So what happens when you run the PDA installer .exe file on your device ?

Well, if you've chosen a background bitmap, this gets displayed as your background image.

Then, the installer works it's way through your list of .cab files that you want to install, and any other files that you've asked it to copy to the device.

Your .cab files will only get installed onto devices you've asked it to. For example, you can tell it to just install ARMv4.CAB files on Windows Mobile 2003 devices.

Also,by default, the .cab files will only be installed when they need to be. For example, if you've included the Microsoft SQLCE libraries in your project, but they are already installed on your device, it won't attempt to re-install them.

At the end of installing/copying your files, a log file is created, \installer.txt, describing whether each files or .cab was successfully copied/installed.

If you hit any problems, such as files not being installed, shortcuts not being created, and so on, this is the first place you should look to find out why.
