PocketPC Installer Professional - What is it ?

The PocketPC Installer Professional is unique.
Simply drag'n'drop your PocketPC / Windows Mobile / Smartphone / Windows
CE .Net .cab & data files into the PocketPC Installer Professional,
and it will compress all of your files into two types
of installer files for your PDA application.
Two types of installer files - simply choose which is more useful
for you, and ignore the other:

This is the most common form of installer
file, for distributing to your users on your website or intranet.
It is a single .exe file which your users can run on their
PCs, which contains compressed
copies of all of your .cab files/other files within it.
This .exe will determine the type of device which is
connected to your PC (Windows Mobile, Smartphone, Windows CE .Net),
determine which of your .cab files are already installed on the
device (including the device's version of .Net Compact Framework),
it will copy the relevant files to it, then start installing them
on the device. |

For each type of device which you wish
to support (Windows Mobile, Smartphone, Windows CE .Net), we also
create a PDA installer file for you.
These are single.exe files, which you run on your PDA/Smartphone,
which, again, contain compressed
copies of all of your .cab files/other files, plus the code to
required to intelligently install them onto your device.
These types of .exe files can't be run on a PC, they
are specially written to run on a device. For example, you could
put one of these installer files onto a memory card, then simply
insert the memory card into your device to begin installing your
suite of .cab files / data files. |
For example, if you've written a .Net CF application which you want
to distribute on the internet, you could just take the Desktop Installer
file, and put that on your website.
However, if you were creating an installer package for your Windows
Mobile software for salesmen travelling around conferences, then
perhaps you'd just take the Windows Mobile PDA installer file, put it
onto a memory card, and give one to each of your salesmen.
No more support calls when their battery dies - they can reinstall
their Windows Mobile software simply by re-inserting the memory
card into their device !

you want to distribute your software.
